Purpose (§ 9.01)

Establishes a process for the replacement of a lost or stolen FID card or LTC at no cost to the licensee.

Replacement Process (§ 9.02)

Applies to licenses issued under §§ 129B (FID), 131 (LTC), 131F (nonresident LTC), or 131H (machine gun license).

Requirements to obtain replacement:
1. Applicant must have an active and valid license
2. Must have reported the loss or theft to both:
- The Criminal History Systems Board (now DCJIS)
- The local issuing licensing authority
3. Licensing authority confirms identity and updates files as necessary

Replacement term: Coterminous with the original license period (no new 6-year term; replacement expires when the original would have).
