For LTC Applicants, New or Renewing
There is a new option in Massachusetts for applicants to fill out their applications on the Mass Government Website
This new feature does not submit your application to MIRCS. You must still schedule an appointment.
To schedule an appointment , please call 978-939-5638. The Chief holds appointments on Monday Mornings and Tuesday late afternoons and early evenings.
We will not take any paperwork until the time of your appointment.
If you are looking for the status of your LTC application, change the address, or retrieve a lost PIN, you will also be able to use the MIRCS Firearms Portal .
Renewals: Appointments will only be scheduled within 60 days of your expiration date. We understand that reminders are sent out, but we monitor the return and adjust accordingly.
On the day of your Appointment, please bring the following, or the appointment will have to be rescheduled for a later date.
Two forms of ID: Driver s License, Current LTC (if renewing), Birth Certificate, Utility Bill, Social Security Card, Etc.
License to Carry Application: Please ensure the application is completely filled out prior to your appointment. Applications are available in the front lobby, or you can print it by clicking here
Basic Firearm Safety Class Certificate: Class needs to be completed, and the certificate must be present. This class is needed to obtain your Class A LTC. For an FID, you will need the Hunter s Education Course.
Check or Money Order made out to the Town of Templeton for $100. Debit and credit will not be accepted.
To make sure your application is efficient, please make sure to list your SSN, or bring your Social Security Card as a form of ID.
