License to Carry Application Instructions
$100 check or money order made to the Town of Shirley
• Renewals should be submitted to the Police Department 90 days prior to expiration.
• Two (2) letters of recommendation must be included for new license request. Letters must be from a non-relative.
• Fees must be paid by check or money order. Cash will not be accepted.
• Completed applications and fees must be dropped off Monday through Friday between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm.
• First time applications must provide a copy of a Firearms Safety Certificate completed within the last 12 months.
• All identification cards must be picked up in person.
• Please include SSN, though the application states “optional”.
• Please sign and date page 4, though it states that the page is to be filled out for renewals only. It still needs to be signed and dated, even for new applications.
