Requesting Public Records from the Norwood Police Department
The Norwood Police Department processes requests for police reports, records, and body-worn camera footage in accordance with the Massachusetts Public Records Law (G.L. c. 66 and G.L. c. 4, 7(26)).
To request a motor vehicle crash report, incident report, arrest report, or other public record, please complete the Public Records Request Form below and submit it to the Records Division by email, mail, or fax. You are not required to provide a reason for your request.
The Department will respond within ten (10) business days, as required by Massachusetts law. Certain records or portions of records may be withheld or redacted if a statutory exemption applies. If a request requires more than two hours of employee time, or if reproduction or redaction fees apply, the Department will provide a written cost estimate before processing the request.
Copies of reports may also be obtained in person at the Norwood Police Department Records Division during normal business hours with proper identification. Please note that some reports may not be immediately available and may still be subject to the ten-business-day response period under the Public Records Law.

License to Carry/ Firearms Identification Card Information:
The following application must be completed before contacting the Records Division for an appointment. LTC FORM
Change of Address
Under M.G.L. c. 140 129B(10), and M.G.L. c. 140 131(1), a holder of an FID Card or an
LTC must notify, MA Firearms Bureau Portal and submit your change of address on line.
This is the only obligation as a LTC/FID holder is obligated to do. The old way of of
notifying police departments via certified mail is no longer required in writing, to the
licensing authority
Sex Offender Information
Level 3 sex offenders are public information and posted via community notification. Level 2 sex offenders can be viewed at the police station upon request. Currently, Level 1 offenders are confidential and not available to the public.
