Firearm Licensing
All FID and LTC applications must be filled out and submitted online through the state s website. This applies to both new and renewal applicants. Please direct all questions regarding the online application to the Firearms Records Bureau (617-660-4782) or the state s Firearms Licenses webpage .
After submitting your online application, make your licensing fee payment using the Lexington Police Unipay website .
Fees are as follows:
License to Carry Firearms - $100.00
License to Carry Firearms, Retired Law Enforcement Officers - $25.00
Firearms Identification Card - $100.00
Firearms Identification Card (under 18 years old) - $25.00
New Applicants
Once the application is submitted through the state s online Firearms Licensing Portal and payment is completed through UniPay, please send an email to [email protected] with your name, phone number, new applicant number, and proof of payment. You will be notified when the application has been reviewed and verified and you are ready to come to the Police Station for fingerprint processing and an interview.
Lexington PD has open availability to complete the application process on a first-come, first-serve basis on Wednesdays between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Schedule your application interview using our online form.
Renewals
Once the application and payment are received, your renewal will be processed and you will be notified via email when it s ready. You must submit the mandatory affidavit and all required documentation through the state s online Firearms Licensing Portal . NOTE: If you are renewing your LTC and over the age of 70 there is no cost, and no payment required.
