All applicants can apply for a new, or renewal, firearms license through the MIRCS Firearms Licensing Portal (not the Dudley Police website). All applicants must have a Massachusetts driver's license or ID card showing a Dudley address. Please include your social security number in the application as it is needed to complete the background investigation. MIRCS prompts you to use your current RMV drivers license photograph, DO NOT take your own photograph. Please be sure to answer all questions honestly and completely. Failing to complete this application truthfully is reason for denial. Licenses take approximately 6 to 8 weeks to process. If your payment is in the form of a personal check you can plan on receiving your license 6 to 8 weeks from the date the check was cashed. Any questions regarding the firearms licensing process should be directed to Sergeant Chandler Boyd by calling the Firearms Licensing Office at 508-640-8400.
