FIREARMS LICENSE APPLICATION CHECKLIST
1. Complete a State approved Firearms Safety course.
2. Review Massachusetts Firearms License application.
3. Make an appointment to meet with a Dover Firearms Licensing Officer by using our online appointment calendar . You will receive a text message confirming your appointment.
4. Bring a check with you to your licensing appointment made out to the Town
of Dover in the amount of One Hundred dollars ($100).

UPDATE Massachusetts has implemented an online application process. You may submit an application for a new or to renew an LTC or FID. Individuals can continue to apply for or renew an LTC and FID in person at the Dover Police Department using the appointment calendar above.

For online first-time applications, individuals will still need to schedule an appointment for required fingerprinting using the appoint ment calendar . The State processing fee can be collected at this time.
For online renewals, individuals will need to bring a check made out to the "Town of Dover" for the processing fee. Bring this check to the Dover Police Department in an envelope with their name and labeled LTC or FID fee. If we do not receive the processing fee, it may delay your application process.
