All License to Carry (LTC) and Firearms Identification Card (FID) appointments will be made by using the online calendar scheduling program . All required paperwork must be printed and brought with you on the day of your appointment. All appointments will be held in person at the Canton Police Headquarters, 1492 Washington Street, Canton, MA 02021.
When applying for a new application through the portal, you need to pick a date for an appointment with Lt. Lank to process fingerprints and make payment. When submitting a renewal application through the portal, a payment must still be submitted to the Canton Police Department. All checks made payable to the Town of Canton and should be submitted to the attention of Lt. Michael Lank.
New Applicant Instructions
* A completed LTC/FID application
* A copy of your basic firearms safety certificate ( Listing of Firearm Instruction Sites )
* A valid Massachusetts driver's license or ID card with current address
* A copy of certificate of Naturalization or green card (if applicable)
* Payments will be made in the form of a personal check or money order made payable to: The Town of Canton
* If applying for an FID card and are under the age of 18, you must provide a permission letter from a parent or guardian

Fee Schedule
* FID card: $100
* FID card applicants under 18 years of age: $25
* License to carry firearms: $100
* License to carry firearms (retired law enforcement): $25
* License to carry firearms (active law enforcement outside agency): $25
* Renewal applicants over 70 years of age: No fee
