How to Renew / Apply for a Gun License
All applicants should obtain and complete a Massachusetts Firearms Records Bureau Applications (Form FA-25/26). Find the form online or pick one up at the Police Station.
On page 1, please be sure you include a phone number where we can contact you.
On page 2, carefully read and answer questions 5 through 14. Inaccurate answers could affect the approval of your application.
One page 3 of application, add phone numbers for your two references.
Deliver the completed form to the police secretary at the police station. Your application and criminal history will be reviewed during the next ten days following submittal.
You will be contacted via phone and an appointment will be made for you to meet with a licensing official. The normal hours for appointments will be 10 am to 6 pm.
New applicants should plan on their appointment at the station being one-half hour long, as fingerprints are taken. Renewals should be completed in fifteen minutes.
