Avon Police Department Firearms Licensing Process
LTC applicants must be 21 years old at the time of application. FID applicants must be 18 years old or 15 years old with a letter from parent granting permission to apply.
New Applications
For Avon residents who wish to apply for a NEW Firearms License, you will need:
LTC Application
Cash, check or money order for $100, payable to: Town of Avon. * No applications will be processed without payment when submitting.
Proof of Avon residency.
An MSP Certified safety course certificate.
Two (2) letters of recommendation.
When you have the required documents listed above, bring ALL documents in a sealed envelope to the Avon Police Department addressed to: Detective Theil.
Renewing Your License
For Avon residents who wish to RENEW their Firearms License, you will need:
A signed LTC Application
Cash, check or money order for $100, payable to: Town of Avon. * No applications will be processed without payment when submitting.
